Well he is not a sisterfucker (at least not yet). And unless they decide to inbreed, then what does it matter? It is between them. They already are trying to not be bold and have their relationship in secret. SO your family's reputation would not take quite as big a hit (if at all). People have done worse, like marrying their pillow (which actually happened), so at least this is somewhat normal in comparison. It is also Japan. There are countless LN, Manga, Hentai, Anime, etc... about incestuous relationships, almost always depicting them in a positive way (I get it that these aren't real, but the idea is common enough to not be completely unheard of). Both know what is acceptable and what is not (though choose to do what they want regardless), and what should not ever happen (inbreeding). A "deserved sleep"? What did he do to deserve it so much? It seems like all he did was go to the airport, come home, and slap his son. The Mom already seemed either indifferent to the whole thing or at least just more level headed enough to give it some thought before assaulting their children.
"imagine if they actually did that, whatever chance of sorting that shit out the next day would be lost". yes, because the best way to deal with things is to immediately break up the family. Locking your children in their own rooms which for some reason have exterior locks. If your first thought is isolation, then you clearly have no idea how bad that is for these kind of things.
If they seriously did that:
1, they would be forcing their own children to choose between them or their sibling (could even lead to disowning one or both of them given the sanity of the father which seems low). Which is by far the worst thing.
2, they could now treat everything they say as a potential threat, ruining all trust they have earned throughout the years.
3, they could cause their children to pursue their relationship even harder due to spite.
4, their children will certainly begin to distance themselves from them, which it seems at least one person on either side doesn't want (mom for parents possibly).
5, they cant babysit them 24/7 for forever. They will be alone sometimes, what then?
That is just to name a few possibilities. Their Dad's actions fucked up things a lot already. Uta would not be asking to run away if he handled it in a less dramatic and violent manner. So if their kids do run away it is already entirely on him.
While incestuous relationships are frowned upon publicly, they are not the worst thing to come home to find your children doing. Hell one of the long-running top searches for porn is incest. For the most part it is harmless (unless they inbreed or one is against it). Drugs are way worse but like you said, they have nothing to do with eachother.
But seriously, their Dad looked like he was about to do a lot worse than what he already did. I would not be surprised if his relationship with his kids is ruined. But it seems like he at least knows he went too far since he called it a night so he could calm down and not try to kill his son. They have been in a relationship for some time now, have given it ample thought, started to form their lives around it, admitted it to their friends (though after getting exposed), and decided to continue with it. Their friends know, and while most seem to not agree, they didn't physically assault them, some even support it to an extent. Sure there were some initial issues, but it seems that they resolved them for the most part. So a lock won't do shit to stop their relationship. If anything it only would hurt their parent/children relationship.
