@BraveHeartedHero basically Slash dog is the base universe, mostly focused on the heaven side, it was his original project but it was not so popular, till he began DxD, in DxD its a major forward to Slash Dog, and Ikuse becomes the leader in a special unit DxD focuses on later. Basically the plot is diffferent but the powers and systems are the same

it's that concept i hate... seal the MC power and some memories for no f*cking reason and then say it was to 'protect him'
years later he get unsealed and still in danger( or even worse they ask for his help)
ffs ... his fate is sealed the moment he got his power
SO to 'protect him' teach him how to use this power and control it from young age,
not limiting him and left him unprepared of what coming.
the MCs family always go for the easy and the temporary solution instead of the permanent one.

Hdxd felt light.
while this gives dark fantasy vibes which is more to my taste.
Also yeah dont expect any smut here either.
same author after all...
HDxD art is so bubbly.
i prefer this artist.

i remember reading somewhere that Highschool dxd is full of ecchi because of the editor wants it, not specifically the author himself. and DxD initially have same vibe as this (being serious and a bit dark) but since editor didnt believe it will be popular enough they suggest to add (or focus) on ecchi element, and at the end it really sold well. lol
