It actually annoys me when my egg sandwich has all the filling in a big lump in the middle and nothing along the sides.
It makes sense to have a bit less along the edge so it doesnt all just squeeze out as soon as you grab it, but there should still be some there instead of all in a lump in the middle.

You are not alone, that is objectively the worst way to cut a sandwich. Diagonal > Horizontal > Squares >>>> Vertical.

This is why I tend to puncture the yellow and spread it out when I fry eggs for a sandwich.
