I think that was really more turn of phrase than anthing else. Like how someone whose slept on the floor their entire life and managed fine can sleep in a bed once and suddenly realise just how awful sleeping on the floor has always been and never be able to go back to being fine with it.

As long the core isn't broken the slime could survive but after getting to live as a human going back to just being a slime will be so awful that it's just no longer going to be acceptable to that slime.

And the slime itself seems to have made the same leap of faulty logic and will be probably be walking around assuming that if the body is destroyed that it'll die but really the slime would just be fine and then realise "oh no this sucks"

That makes more sense, and makes her a bit more safe, since she's not killed as easily. As long as the core isn't too injured, she can survive the body dying. Unless there's something else that hinders that.

it honestly looked like the core merged with/used all it's energy on her heart as it got restarted, so it may be a simple case of her core now being a human heart...which can't be dismantled or used as a slime core again

Reminds me of the game "Ambitions of the slime"...

at the very least, this manga needs a recently deceased one... In the game, they literally force themselves on the humans. The weaker the human, the more successful to enter. Just like pokemon lol
