I'm frustrated because I want to know what the heck is actually going on... but Jelly don't care. She's just bumbling along thwarting evil plans by accident.

She won't bother uncovering their evil plots... because she only cares about tasty food and making friends.

So whoever the mystery man is, going by his assumed deductions, has been going after the saints suspecting one of them to be 'chosen by god'. Now that he's met Jelly who's stronger than she appeared, assuming as the result of god's power granted to her, being as their 'chosen one', he's now tasked to eliminate her.

Question now is who hired him to do the job and why.

I honestly think she IS the legit chosen one by divine forces, cause her being a slime that just so happened to find the body of a saint called JELLY seems way too much of a coincidence to not be the hand of actual divine fate at work.

You gotta wonder what the Goddess thinks of one of her Saints being killed and taken over by a slime. Something like "Sheesh, almost all my Saints suck this time, oop there goes Jelly ah well at least she... wait what the hell why is that slime replacing her insides holy shit".

Is she actually being guided by a goddess or not?!?! So many things point to it, a butterfly emerging and leading her to an injured saint, animals bringing fruit not native to the region to save a village, this DAMN BUTTERFLY IN THIS CHAPTER JUST STAYING BY HER SIDE, THIS BUTTERFLY MATCHING THE BUTTERFLY THAT HUNG OUT WITH HER WHEN THE ANIMALS BROUGHT HER IMPORTED FRUIT.

It's just so many coincidences. And maybe they're just that: coincidences.
But with Faith, these could all be seen as signs.
