Either he time traveled back, the slime had something to do with the time travel back or mind/soul transfer. Or he's hallucinating on his death bed as he's reliving his entire life in a lucid dream style effect and everything we're seeing are the delusions of a dying man in his last breath that goes on as if to last an entire adventure where he gets to redo his entire life only to end on him dead on his bed with his little slime.

But we know that it's not the intent of people making those kind of mangas/novels, so I'm probably going to put money on somehow Fios has that latent ability within itself and it's why the person that the slime is contracted to has gone back in time.

Now what kind of shenanigans are we going to be up to here? Is Fios going to go the Rimuru path and have endless evolutionary possibilities? Will Fios turn into a slime girl? Will this get a suggestive tag? Or will this just be a heart warming simple adventure story. Who knows.

Not a bad start to be honest.
Usually these types of stories open with the mc getting spat on and ridiculed by people around him for daring to have such a weak contract, but in this case, his friends are actually good kids and not suddenly revealed to be assholes.
I really like the wholesome vibe where his main goal is to live this second chance at life to the fullest alongside the friend that he never fully appreciated in his past life.
Eagerly looking forward to more from this.

Pretty wholesome so far, I enjoy character growth where it isn't just external forces, but there's true intrinsic growth as well. Plus reflection is cool.
Also his friends being concerned and apprehensive on a touchy subject is well done. Some folk might think its too slow but I've read way too much trash with big events chained after another, if your default is 140% it's just going through the motions lol

Hah yes. but Garage disposal would very useful indeed.. especially in big cities with sewers where diseases can pop up from. slimes removing the trash and such? would reduce it ALOT and improve the overall health in these cities.

I really like the first chapter and story telling, we can tell a little bit about mc's past life with some contexts. People looked down on him because he got the weakest creature and he despised it, blaming it and wished he had something different, more useful. But as he gets older, he learned to live with it, rely on it and little by little, he grew a bond with it and appreciated it. But at that point, it was too late. He wished he had given it a better life instead of ignoring it for most of his life.
I had tears in my eyes reading this. Hype for more chapters.
