Ahh, Mendi is a Flapjack. She may also be a Dumbo Octopus, who look pretty close to Flapjacks. Both are cute, have lil arms, and lil "ears". It is of no shock to me Mendi isnt as... Shall we say, elegant as our other Octonoids. If you've ever seen Flapjacks and Dumbos, they aren't terribly... Ah... Impressive when they swim or crawl.

This is unlike Giant Pacific Octopus who are majestic in basically all things, and Blue Rings which are speedy lil buggers with surprisingly long reach.

I recall someone comparing Dumbos to hamsters. Cute, unthreatening, occasionally makes you wonder how they survive in the wild... Sorry, this manga tickles my marine biology fixation.
