Slow loading and images timeout

Still no fix? Every page is loading extremely slow.

yeah, this has been happening for over a year now. but it is extremely slow even for newer chapters (in the past it was only the older chapters)

Hey soooo this past month has been the absolute slowest in terms of image loading, older chapters even more so but even newer ones take like, 5 minutes to completely load... or more.

So I tried VPN to the US..... and voila, MUCH, MUCH faster. Idk what the hell is happening but it seems IPs from Southeast Asia are completely f***d.

I'm in the US and have been having increadibly slow loading to the point I start reading give up.

Under the reader setting, there is 2 settings that helped me out. First is switching the images from native to compressed. It seemed to take a few chs to apply but it did decrease loading times. the other is the image server option. test out both options and see which one is faster. The other option of preloading images might help as well but i just left it at defult. But i think a lower setting for that is better since that way it will load the beginning of the ch instead of all of it at once.

Neither helps me. I have had slow loading times for days now (in the EU) and they get worse every day it seems. Chapters that are older than a week are affected way worse.

Not exactly a solution but one thing I have been doing is turning it to long page format and letting all load first and then reading the chapter all together rather than wait for each page.

I would be happy to pay like a buck a month to get access to a faster server with less noise. I noticed the mentioned supporters would get extra features soon. I hope that happens soon.

How can things get this bad? It’a nearly impossible to read older chapters or start a new series on this site. I’m honestly surprised people are flocking to MD if the situation has been bad for somlong and shows no signs of getting better.

I think most people don't notice sice it seems fine with alot of recently posted stuff. But I think I will wait a few weeks till they repair this site. I can't read while waiting 3 minutes for one page, if it loads at all. Cya around.

I thought I was the only one having this issue.. it takes about 10 to 15 sec to load a single page.. while on aggregator sites.. it takes 1 second to load about 20 pages in long strip format.
So I end up using this site as updating site.. then read on aggregator site 😅😅

The addition of many features + code imperfections + huge traffic has led MD to become unresponsive. It's really pointless to try reading old chapters here. A part of the donations should be used for hiring a senior programmer to fix the code/bugs. Batoto was able to handle huge traffic with minimum resources due to top notch coding.

Unfortunately many fansubs rely exclusively on MD. It would be nice if all those groups start providing additional methods (discord->mediafire/mega links etc) for their releases.

Honestly reading manga here has become such a chore because of the slow loading times that I resort more and more to aggregators now

The more this issue continues, the more even scanlation groups will be incentivized to upload their chapters elsewhere.
There's no point in uploading in a website where people are basically unable to read anything anymore.

Lol. 10-15 seconds for loading a page? Today, for some reason, it regularly took 10-15 MINUTES for me. On a chinese webtoon where ever single panel is split into 2-3 images. Logging out instantly solved my problems.
Only possible reason I can think of is that my reading speed of ~3-5 images / second perhaps got me flagged as a bot, since that's also the download speed of the common scrapers.

Yep, this issue is back, i still get this lag on loading images since a week in a row, but not the whole day like in the past, only during certain hours, expecially evening. Resetting the browser somehow help and log-in again seems to only temporary solve the issue. Guess they have issue with caching again or is a routing issue in certain parts of europe, never knew what was the cause nor in the past not now, maybe bandwidth saturation.

This happens to me, too, but usually only after a couple chapters. I.e. I'll come onto the site for the first time that night, read 1-2 chapters of something with perfectly fine loading times, and then the 3rd chapter I read (usually not the same manga; I switch around a lot), the loading times get slower, then the next chapter even slower, and maybe by the 5th I can't read a damn thing without it taking 3-5 minutes to load a page.

same here. every day around 7 and 8 pm cet the images load extremly slow. i tried the other image server but it wont change.
