I wonder how much longer this manga is gonna last. IIRC, this is somewhere midway through Hana's second year at high school; and if this rates continues, it'll end probably shortly after the 300 the chapter.

This is still their first year in high school. The manga began when they enrolled in april, and now it's currently in january.

At the very least, the story will not finish until the start of their second year (which would be in april), since that point is important for some arcs to resolve (Hana getting actual birthday gifts as promised when they all met, Shion getting an actual job and Hannen going to college). Doesn't mean the story will necessarily end then, it could keep going.

What chapter did they get accepted into the student council because for some reason I thought that was the transition between the two school years? I may be missremembering that and making my previous statement wrong. I am also assuming that this manga will end like a lot of other ones with graduation.

They join the student council temporarily to help with the culture festival prep in chapter 72.
They then join officially in chapter 113, right after the culture festival ended (which happened in october).
