There's something that's been bothering me about the cover.
I've been wondering if that's isn't Kumoko but D or whatever her name is, cause it just seems like it wouldn't be Kumoko but D.
Now I know some of you are gonna ask "what about the spinoff manga that has the four of them?" I think it's probably like that to make us think it's Kumoko on this book cover cause on the other cover they have a blue hair colour while this cover girl has black I know this might be a stretch but, in the latest volume cover the cover girl is holding flowers like she were at a funeral. A funeral of her own class and she was the only survivor.
Tldr: The girl on the cover is D

Even at the end, kumoko never took a black hair girl form, and she’s a spider to begin with.
I mean literal spider, she is isekai-ed spider from our world, D accidentally give a spider tiny part of her soul when Hero and Demon King joined hand and attacked her, then our Kumoko is born and isekai-ed.
So she will never or ever had black haired girl form.

The ruler skills 'permanently' changes the soul of the owner. Not sure how permanent it is considering the system can easily undo pretty much any modification it causes except soul wearing... (D is a pro) Still, heresy nullification is supposed to block further attacks, so it should only avoid any worsening of the condition. In Wrath's case he regained his mind after Kuro beat him because his skill effect is something that can be activated. On the other hand pride has effect whenever she acquires experience points, so the damage slowly accumulated before she got heresy nullification. I guess it's still there even after she became a god, considering how prideful she is about many things, like the way she 'taught' to the vampire girl.

Still, this chapter is really bad. How am I supposed to worry about that cliffhanger when she can just teleport away? While the reason everyone keep saying (me included) is true, it's probably just a bit of bad writing. I mean, it shouldn't have looked so silly and forced, even if there was a reason behind it.

She can't teleport, she doesn't have time to construct teleport rune, much like in many previous fights. She and Mother both using whatever that skill was that speed up thought process/slowing down time, not to mention future prediction, Skanda, and other things. In real time their fight is super-fast.

@daywithoutgames I think you forgot the fact that the current Demon King is the Origin Taratect, a rank above Mother and the highest ranking Taratect of that world and also her ancestor. Even if Mother died, Komoko will still live on as her ancestor is still alive. Also maybe because she is a reincarnated, so the hive swarm effects doesn't wholly bind her. Also even if Mother died, it will only piss the Demon King off as her strongest child got killed by her descendant.
