One thing that confuses me is if she became an object of worship to the local community, why are none of them trying to prevent this dude from taking her like some pet? You would think some resistance or protests would be seen.
So how do we know it’s it’s the guy that’s been coming everyday to insult her and not some other organization or that bowler hat guys rival just trying to frame him to get rid of some competition?
@kuma I thought the same and then someone told me PublishedNovel is different from WebNovel. It started to deviate earlier. For example spidergirl didn't take over BigSpiderMama body.
@farranpoison Spoilers ahead, so be warned (although I don't think the manga is going to cover it)
This old man is a noble from a neighboring kingdom. In the grand scheme of things, he isn't very important and was sent here to capture the miracle spider monster. Really, the other nobles that sent him here don't think he can actually accomplish this feat but are hoping his abrasive and "better than you" attitude will cause the local lord to do something that can give the neighboring kingdom a reason to invade. He has forced himself into the lord's hospitality and made several passes on his wife by this point and I think he even offers to buy their daughter. Guy is pure scum.
But because of his position and the tact of the local lord, he has the run of the town.
@SpaceFootballKing There's the anime, the light novel and the web novel (both novel versions are equally good and have differences that make changes to the story, also the web novel is currently in the last arc of the story).
