We already knew 2 characters from the manga: The demon in batman costume and the woman who called with Kumo.

I think I'll drop this. I loved it for the comfy Kumo shenanigans, but now it looks like the direction is that of a stereotypical powerlevel isekai.

Shame, I'll miss the cute spooder.

The manga and the novels are different, standalone products. The manga is supposed to stand on its own. If I require knowledge from the novels to enjoy a chapter from the manga, then that is a bad chapter.

From the perspective of a manga reader, the story suddenly took a turn and decided to focus on characters we don't know and consequently don't care about, for two chapters. In other words, for TWO ENTIRE MONTHS. In these two months, all we got was exposition about some extremely generic characters and setting, told poorly and entirely through dialogue. Maybe these chapters work better in the novels but fact is, in the manga they could have been done better.

Too short, too boring. Really any Isekai gets dull when they try to introduce politics and world conquest, it's usually just so dull. This is no different. If this is how it's gonna be from here on out, I can't say I'm looking forward to it.

@Wildfire To be fair, you can condense a lot more development into a novel chapter than a manga. Name-dropping 10-12 new characters in two dozen pages doesn't give the reader anything to go on as far as being interested in them yet.

i just realized that they made the cut to this point of the story at this moment because of the anime. the side stories will be featured in the anime, as it is based on the LN, and the great human-demon war is already happening in those stories. they picked a good cliffhanger to make the switch and cover part of that content so the manga wont be too far behind by the time the anime comes out.

btw this manga is published bi-weekly

Hate it when novels become manga and they don't realize that borning side stories only work because once it's over the reader has more material for that installment. And they're not forced to get only boring side story stuff for multiple installments.

Wow, what's with the low attention span, y'all can't stand a couple pages of set-up?
Though I can admit that this chapter ain't have any hook like last chapter with "nai wa" twist, it's only like, what, ten pages?

Your complain will all be invalidated comes the tankobon.
What, you demand manga to provides engagement for every single chapter? That's how you got those manga that ends on cliffhanger for every freaking chapter. Those kind always falls apart on marathon.

Short and even more boring than usual. They must have tried really hard to accomplish this

The art seems to be getting worse.

Also I do not give a shit about any of these people or the weeb novel, I'd be reading that if I did.

Wow half the people here can't handle a short intermission that has only been going on for 2 chapters. Now they weren't the most spectacular chapters but still.
