and 'ere I just got one a few days ago. lil bro saved up CAD$1420 cash via dog minding and only had to play a CAD$4 difference from the combined price via credit.

Me... I just grabbed a CAD$50 pre-paid and used it to grab the switch 2 upgrades for BotW and TotK.

Honestly, can't wait to get my hands on Titanic Scion that's out in less then a week.

Sure, it's kinda pricey for a direct upgrade, but outside of that, it's pretty alright so far.

if you don't give a fuck about the new donkey kong, that's your problem. it's fucking awesome and worth your time. Very similar to Mario Odyssey in terms of fluid movement, platforming challenges, but has a much harder difficulty curve towards the end that actually makes you have to lock in.

also the thing just came out you can chill on the "no games" thing until it's out for like a year.
Why play that when I can just replay the masterpiece that is Donkey Kong 64?

Truly a masterpiece and without an "easy mode" for click-to-win players to enjoy. What's more, it even has two retro games included and you need to beat them to play the end! Besides, I think it's the only DK in 3D? Plus the opening dance is epic. And then you can play with three more FRIENDS, offline. Can nowadays industry offer that?

Tbh, at this point I doubt I'll ever get it.
Nintendo seems to be going down the path of corporate idiocy and I don't care about that route.

All of the media says that everyone bought it, yet I have never seen anyone have it IRL. My nephew and his school friends don't know about it when I asked them.

They told me "Why do we need another Switch?"

Apparently kids in my country are having an issue understanding that it even is a new console, maybe that would explain the full shelves on the stores here.

Anyone getting it? Anyone not?

I'm definitely not getting it. The price of the console (450 USD) seems high for a Nintendo system, but I would've begrudgingly bought it if that was the only issue. The price of the games though (90 USD for physical), and the fact that some cartridges are just license keys basically, is unforgivable. It was already bad enough that Nintendo shelved the virtual console so they could give us a crappy, anti-consumer subscription service with almost no games to pick from. Now they're sending a very clear message to the consumer that they DON'T want you to own your own property, PERIOD.

"You will own nothing, and you will be happy, or else."

That should be the tagline for the upcoming Switch commercials.

And yes, I'm aware that game and console prices were not always under 70 USD and 600 USD in the before time. But, let's be real here, is the obvious future Resident Evil 2 Remake port going to be 30 USD like the PS5 physical version, or is it going to be 90 USD? It's going to 90 USD. And for Nintendo 1st party games, not all of them are going to be worth that high price tag, but I'd be willing to bet on all my Yoshi plushies that they're going to be full price, anyway.

Actually, I'm not going to bet my Yoshi plushies. They're too cute. And you know, it's odd, All the ones I see in stores now are bigger than the ones I initially got. They look weird with the others in my collection, so I don't get them.

Edit: I heard some conflicting information on game prices. We'll see on that.
They’ve pulled off so much dog crap that I’m just done. Not only is it the killing of all the previous E shops, the murder of yuzu and reujinx, sub par rereleases, unaffordable games and hardware, and attempt at murder of competition. The last game I played was totk. The original botw is a staple of my teen years. Not only does totk pale in comparison, my pro controller got stuck drift. Why should I play a crappy sequel on sub par hardware made by a company I hate and have to buy a new controller for $80? With my computer I can play any game I want. I don’t even need to pay I’m just that damn good. So why should I waste my time and energy?

I've been playing Digimon Story Time Stranger, and it is leagues above any Pokemon game. Yeah, it's technically not a direct competitor, but it's still a monster collector and fighter. And with the patents Nintendo filed, (which got rejected), another sequel would be out of the picture.

So, when you buy the 'physical' copy of a game, but it doesn't contain the small cartridge, instead, it's the download code for the purchased game? And the price? WTF? Expensive much... I'd rather wait for years to pass by until the price goes lower and stuff.... Well, not in a hurry to get this one, might as well enjoy my Switch Lite and play all the games that I can.

I gave up debating with Pokemon fans. You have to be completely delusional to believe that legends ZA is acceptable. It looks and runs like Eshop shovelware. What Nintendo apologists don't understand, is that the People who complain about Gamefreak aren't doing it because they hate Pokemon. They do it because they love the franchise and want to see it reach its maximum potential.
