This is possibly the bests I have ever read. A genre mystery masterfully mixed with philosophical and socio-psychological issues. The religious nature of reality and the self and the fragility and faith-dependency boundaries between the ordinary and the supernatural, are among the main themes. There is really a lot going on. It is really entertaining, stimulating and refreshing.

A truly engaging, surreal, unique, and thought provoking manga that builds a mystery setting and many intriguing themes. You will be hooked from start to finish, and left with things to ponder on. A huge shame this work isn’t known more! One of the bests, and I can’t recommend enough.

I had my reservations in the beginning... but before I knew it, I was pulled along nonstop to the end of this incredible joyride. Many series of similar angle and ambition stumble along the way, dampening initial appeal with shoddy explanations or pointless luridities. But this one ties everything together very nicely. Truly a well-crafted thriller.

I think it's actually more internally coherent and better thought out than any of the Urasawa mystery manga.

This seriously remains Kaneko's masterpiece! Big shoutout to the true OGs who translated this.
