I love that we're getting very expressive shadow faces again! Also great to see the descendants of monarchs teaming up. I wonder if there's going to be more of that...

MC certainly seems to be going about it as a diplomat, not a king. Of course, he’ll be king all the same.

The fact that he had a child suddenly explains why the Monarch of Fangs of all people was the only Monarch that sought mercy from Sung Jin Woo (before becoming enraged when the proposal for receiving mercy was both an insult and a death sentence.) It was such an interesting moment since it seemed to run counter to his philosophies, the only explanation then being that the Monarch of Fangs, as a beast, did so because he instinctually new he had no shot, but it makes more sense that he'd be willing to give up his pride in surrender if he was concerned about his descendant's survival (though obviously he couldn't trust the "traitorous" Shadow Monarch either.)

"I bought time thanks to the human's foolish forgiveness and affection. I just need to hold out until the King of Dragons gets here." "When that time comes, I will rip apart your corpse into pieces."
Monarch of Fangs was literally going to betray SJW.
Feels weird reading this and seeing the story try to humanize the enemies in the first manga when they were terrible.
.
This dialogue feels a bit weird...

While it is true that he was planning on betraying Sung Jin Woo, it's still rather odd with his philosophies since he'd rather live on with the humiliation of losing and needing help from the King of Dragons than accept his defeat at the hands of the opponent that proved to be the strongest. Like obviously he'd want to live on, but the Monarch of Fangs had seemed like the type that would want to go out swinging up until that point. I'd say it's less humanizing the Monarch of Fangs, and more just acknowledging that even tyrants can be good to their kids, like how Mob bosses are horrible people to everyone outside of those they consider family, but can be rather doting when it comes to their own kids. The Monarch of Fangs still deserves to have been taken out, but we just now get a better sense of why he would be a lot more keen on living on than the others, though most of them realized they'd need Antares's help. Ultimately, this actually further proves that the Monarch of Fangs was the biggest hypocrite of the Monarchs, claiming to believe something akin to "survival of the fittest" while also being absorbed in self-preservation when the going gets tough.
