Anyone else think that the mc's power interfered with the gate and turned up the level? I was thinking it was like The Gamer's power in a sense.

@zeisol it's possible since the system always wants the MC to grow so we can assume that it's watching him and giving him opportunities like this. Either that or the author just causes trouble to always crop up wherever the hero goes just like in other novels.

I'm not so sure that neither he nor his shadows gained any experience here. They don't always show it when he does. Given what he said earlier about not wasting that ice bear's experience, I doubt he would use his shadows in this manner if no experience were to be had for either of them.

If his shadows alone gain experience, then it's worthwhile for him, due to the fact that their strength is part of his strength. Even if he were A-rank, but had an S-rank shadow, he's still effectively S-rank himself, as long as he can survive long enough to summon his S-rank shadow.

@Krish the new shadow mc raise are all lvl 1. Igris began at lvl 1 too he just leveled up. (his lvl was shown when he captured his pika-shadow).

Edit: I said bull, the stat menu say that Igris began at lvl 7 :/

@Wilddeath I think the factor that will determine how long this manga stays great is how much thought the author has put into the background. So far, it feels like the encounters are not just random fantasy mobs being thrown at the humans. If there are good reasons behind the portals and other worlds, this will remain a classic.

The Hyakki look awesome - pity that fool didn't think about keeping strength in numbers, he might have lived. Then again who knows.
But our boy's growth is incredible he is probably SSS+ with his evolution, I feel the S rank outside will catch it hard for disrespecting him on his return

and @Damn_SkippyF5 I highly doubt that. The difference between A and S is titanic, A can be considered superhuman, but S class are walking natural disasters. I would expect he'd at least be strong enough to fight an S rank off with the help of Igris though.

Seriously though, his summon powers are pretty much what every minion master wants in every game but never seems to be able to get. Ive played a lot of games but even those where you can do this, such as Path of Exile, don't quite work out. The support for minion users is usually just not there.

People generally suck as balancing it too. Thinking its "lazy" or some shit and putting extra rules on it that it never needed to be balanced. Making it not use the core stats is also a common mistake. You end up just ignoring what most other players would covet because you only need specific stats for your character. Almost always to keep yourself alive and increase the minions power because they suck for some reason.
