can someone please explain to me why essentially 98.5% of non MC adventures seem to be either complete trash, hopelessly corrupt, and/or suicidal-ly stupid about dungeon rules/traps? the other ~1.5% being pretty girls who end up in trouble and get rescued by MC before joining his harem...and a handful of veterans who train MC before either running off a fools errand and getting killed by either some intermediary bad guy or, occasionally, by the main antagonist directly OR in the case of being pretty girls, joining the harem once MC surpasses them

Guys... they are the lowest of hunters.
Stop expecting them to be some amazing prodigies that can solve any dungeon, all they do is get inside the place, kill the monsters and back out. There's nothing wrong with the author, the characters, or the story, most people would freeze and stop being rational in the face of such danger, more so when all they do inside dungeons is kill/loot.

I'm not expecting them to be Albert Einstein, but they were told "Worship the Lord, praise the Lord, prove your faith. Those who do not follow these commandments will NEVER return alive." so thinking that they can just kowtow and it'll all be over is stupid. They've not done the other two steps that they all heard. I would expect those words to be the most important thing in their heads because it's a message from the dungeon to them about how to not die
