I can't fathom the experience of going to their house to apologise. You mess up, try to salvage what you can, but I bet no reasoning goes through to parents shouting at you.

Damn, he did try to apologize in person several times. That was my biggest issue with how he handled the aftermath, and that's cleared up.
Now I'm looking at her parents and thinking about how much they fucked up by not letting him explain and apologize to her.
