Hahaha yeah Her mom asked if his name was actually Kaori before, and Nanami actually used his real name too. She didn't realize her mom was right behind her though, but the look on her moms face said she realized it, and put two, and two together. Not All that difficult to be honest. Also the emotional changes Nanami herself showed. Are a give away.

I think “she’s his classmate” works here too. It means they are simply just classmates, nothing else.
