I agree. I struggle myself with finding a xianxia/cultivation story which isn't a blatant power fantasy shonen, isekai or yaoi. For me this one is one of the best, if not the best, out there.

Yeah... Unfortunately, she, and all the others seem to be dead for good. I can still see a potential point to the premise where A-Ting and Qu Chen are royalty of Chen. Since A-Ting goes after the fox clan, she may actually stumble upon her 'brother' who klilled the emperor (under the fox clan's influence, probably). I can already see the fox clan arguing that she has no business influencing mortals' politics. Except A-Ting is part of the throne's line, and that could serve as the perfect excuse to meddle unfettered.

For some time now, i have had the feeling that Qu Chen will end up taking care of the heaven's realm, while A-Ting will take charge of the mortals' one. Heaven and Earth, literally.
