I doubt the topic of the abortion was the only reason for this, I assume its one of many and that he can only think of this.
Being that his wife looked disappointed, It might be that she is sad that he is going on about this one topic again as if it's the cause of everything. While he has probably committed many more horrid acts but can only think of this one instant.
It's a bit like a drunk that has always been a horrid person blaming the one time they missed a goal in football as a kid for why their entire life is crappy. There is defiantly more to this, although I was surprised that the boy is glasses lady's son. (WHAT A TWIST!)

I doubt anyone likes holding grudges, I think its just a part of human nature that holds a grudge as a from of a learning experience. Although I believe it's probably pretty hard for most to find the divide between trauma and a grudge as they often come from a similar place.

Disagree, many people make it their life's mission to be as negative as possible, esp people who spend too much time on places like twitter and reddit. Holding a grudge is a waste of time, its better to focus your energy to make your own life more enjoyable rather than planning someone else's downfall.
