Sad it's ending, but really enjoyed it a lot overall. Would have loved to see more, but also happy it's not going to drag on until I lose interest like Komi, or have an ending I hate like multiple other manga I really enjoyed that then lit everything on fire at the end.

Gotta agree with the rest of y'all, this is absolute bullshit with all the plot setup we had to sit through over the Haniel cosplay. And in general, them just making at least ONE cosplay while dating would be peak content. Fuck, I'm mad now.

There's Dangers in My Heart and Anjou-San that are still trucking on strong. The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses did end, but it at least had a bunch of wonderful fluff before it did.
I love dangers in my heart I JUST started it a few days ago I'll also make sure to check out Anjou-san! I'm always looking for romance Mangas like these (especially high school ones)

wtf was that? i know this bs about the editor guy or whatever wasn't received well in japan, but i don't think the series took such a big hit that they had to axe it lmao

I speak for us all, when I say... "AHHHHHHHHGGGGHHHHHHHHH!"

I guess the post-haniel fame arc is not getting resolved. Cosplay is just a hobby. With your hubby? My hope for the next chapter is a time skip montage of all the things they do together on their bucket lists, then a Hina Doll Wedding.

This was always a "Learn how to be in a relationship with the lessons of cosplay" story. Each cosplay represented a specific theme, and Waka/Mari grew a little bit with each lesson. Slippery girls was about sacrificing yourself for others, and making sure to communicate. Black Lobelia was about dealing with Jealousy. Veronica was about setting boundaries. Succubus was about restraint and temptation. Arisa/Bunny girl was about getting help when you make mistakes. Rei/Council Host was about how asking for help is not a burden, and learning to love yourself. Coffin about examining and challenging your fears. And Haniel topped it off with a story about taking a risk for love, even when your love seems deadly and impossible.

I liked how each cosplay had a story within the story that mirrored those themes. I'm sad that Fukuda didn't want to tell story about "Now that we're in a relationship, how do we make it work?" But I think I'm ultimately ok with it ending here. We got a lot of great arcs. Especially Rei and Haniel.

I also think it's likely that Fukuda self-axed. Based on the inconsistent release schedule, I expect she was burning out, had health problems, or was running out of ideas/motivation. Ya did good work, Fukuda-Sensei.

So they dragged out the “big perfect cosplay” for so long, and then dragged the drama between Marin and Gojo, just to end the series so abruptly?

That kinda sucks… I really like this manga, I just wished it had continued for a bit longer at least.

This is so weird, I'll be honest the manga has been a bit weird for sometime now, but ending it like that? What a strange choice. Sure they got together, but it feels like it never unleashed its potential, wouldn't be farfetched to say it is disappointing.

I failed so hard
He's so me

Gojou enjoying the scenery
Gets stabbed with a fork

So ... there's a simulpub now, except there's no more series to simulpub
Man, just as it was getting good. We've endured the Haniel arc (not saying it was bad, just short of romance) just for the series to end now that we made it to the good part.
Oh well, at least it was good while it lasted. I hope the ending will be somewhat good. An open ending will probably be better than trying to rush too many plot parts at this point.

Thanks for the chapter!

Man wanted more regular couple chapters before end but guess health issues are really pushing them to do the sadly pretty common cringe thing of ending pretty soon after couple is together...at least give flash forward of married life.

Did it get axed? Were its sales actually bad?
This is quite literally one of the most successful manga the publisher has right now.
We're talking about a manga that, on a per-volume basis, sells more than titles like CSM, just to give an example:

01./ Jujutsu Kaisen - 2,870,574
02./ Dandadan - 1,894,622
03./ My Hero Academia - ~1,475,000
04./ Blue Lock - 1,119,845
05./ Blue Box - 844,554
06./ Kingdom - ~670,000
07./ [Oshi no Ko] - ~655,000
08./ Sakamoto Days - ~555,000
09./ Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun - ~545,000
10./ The Apothecary Diaries - ~490,000
11./ Haikyu!! - ~405,000
12./ Chiikawa Nanka Chiisakute Kawaii Yatsu - ~370,000
13./ One Piece - ~355,000
14./ My Dress-up Darling - ~320,000
15./ Kagurabachi - ~310,000
16./ That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime - ~305,000
17./ Chainsaw Man - ~290,000
18./ Medalist - ~290,000
19./ Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun - ~270,000
20./ Wind Breaker - ~270,000
21./ Kaiju No. 8 - ~265,000

There have been rumors for a while that the mangaka was exhausted, not just from the workload of the manga but also from the anime, and that her health had been deteriorating, especially with how she had been rushing plot points and the last break she took late last year, so this was somewhat expected... Still, it's such a shame, because it had crazy potential to develop the romance further.
