What do you think cosplaying is about though? Sure, a small amount of people like to LARP on a stage but they're a minority, the rest of the hobby exists to be photographed and maybe sell their pics.

Is that a question about what I think or about the arc? If it's the latter, then it's for their own satisfaction rather than popularity. Tbh, I don't think we really see anyone that's there just to get popular and sell pics.

Check the Church of Potetto version of this chapter, they have pics of the Bisque Doll/Kisekoi Exhibition in Japan and there's photos of real life costumes that were created of Marin and Gojou's costumes.

Idk if Fukuda-sensei made or had them made during each arc to get the details or intricacies down/research for the manga, or if they were made specifically for the exhibition. But either way, they exist irl lol

Seeing Gojo get obsessed to the point of complete exhaustion, shutting himself off and needing to take out his frustration ny banging the table doesn't read as " wow man he is so passionate about his craft🥺🥺🥺", it just reads as "Gojo losing his mind over the fucking textyle"

The Christmas chapter really does feel like the perfect encapsulation of the state of the manga. Marin gets herself pretty to go over to Gojo's place hoping to confess, but she gets shut off because he is tired after obsessing and entire day over the cosplay, and she gets reasonably miffed.

Surely this will get addressed, right? We will acknowledge how Gojou's obsession with this project is starting to be harmful to himself, right? Yeah, like that was ever gonna happen, It's actually fine to get obsessed with a personal project, work yourself to exhaustion and shutting yourself off, they are just PASSIONATE, man 🥺

Sure, it sucks that the thing we have been dangling over your head since, what, a year ago? Is not gonna happen again, but THE COSPLAY, man, THE PASSION, so creative process, here, have a band-aid for your woo woo. Besides, you'll just get what you wanted LATER, it's not like it's a problem right now as you are reading it

When you put it like this, I think we all kind of feel like Marin in the Christmas chapter. Ages of waiting for basically no payoff, every single time. And when we finally do get something, it's really not that great. It's something, but it's not enough.

I think the reason for the Haniel's costume introduction was not as impactful as it should be is because Gojo's height stole all our looks. If Marin had been by herself at that moment, I'm pretty sure the costume would have packed the expected punch. But with Gojo there, Marin looked herself like, funnily enough, Anya Forger.
