Just read whatever version you want, who cares, the "sniping" thing is just stupid and petty. A lot of morons bullied a dude who did a very poor translation of Bocchi when the guy was doing it out of love for the manga while the good scanlator was taking his sweet time, he said it was his first time and that he wasn't good at it. Even the good scanlator piled on him, it was pathetic.

People tend to forget that fan scanlation most of the time is work of passion, not payed by anybody. Some scumbags are fast to shit on released chapter for it "taking to long", "looking bad", "weird translation" and etc.
As for the chapter, finaly, a proper pay off for all those sleepless night of Gojo, team, thanks for translation!

Guys i dont think that looks anything like fish ribcage :/ fish have like long thin ribs and no sternum as far as i can tell. I wonder what specific fish the author is referring to?

Haniel is distinctly referred to as female in the raw of ch95 pg3, so this is translator error.
Otherwise a quick comparison tells me Tonikaku's translation is more accurate overall.



I'm with you on how it looks like. Do fish even have ribcages...? Maybe the idea is that the bones are thin and long? But it doesn't look like that at ALL when he's looking at the boots...?
Anyway, the raw uses 魚, the generic word for fish, which isn't very helpful for us haha.

They look like shark or similar Devonian-era 'fish' ribs, honestly; massive primordial fish that are a far cry from today's many smaller specimen. And it would fit the personality that Haniel is said to have; ancient, cold, unfeeling, deadly, beautiful because of those traits rather than in spite of them. All reflected wonderfully by Marin's cosplay.

Sadly there's plenty of predatory people out there (one of the most famous here on MangaDex being ComicDom and their various reskins) that do it for the money, not for the passion of translation, or sharing an awesome work. That sort of behaviour is usually what people think of when thinking of 'snipers', rather than a fan that just wants to translate something that they like. Definitely agree that they often get a lot more shit than they deserve because of people looking at their work with an automatically negative viewpoint, though. That said, some attempts truly are terrible and deserve the censure they get, let alone the criticism they get.

You perfectly know that's not what happens. When a dude comes clear saying is his first attempt and everyone dogpiles him that's not criticism. I'm spanish and I can tell most spanish scanlators are very bad, a lot don't have enough mastery over their own mother tongue to even ask them for photoshopping skills, reading them is a painful experience. Still, what does anyone gain if I just tell them how bad they are? Probably they are kids trying out to know what is scanlating, and when someone is serious about it you rarely have to critizice them. The internet criticism thing is mostly a facade to be an asshole behind an avatar.
