Gojou is a craftsman - "good enough" means "terrible" to his mind when it comes to something he really wants to do. Much like the Hina dolls. I admire that persistence and drive.Gojou is ready to spend blood, sweat and tears (again) to make this his masterpiece.
He isn't even doing it just for Kitagawa either, he wants to show what he can do.
my boy gonna open a farm to breed the sheep first, just so he can get the fabric he wants via genetic engineering.THE FABRIC YOU GUYS, WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO DO ABOUT THE FABRIC??!?!?!? I AM SO INVESTED IN THIS FUCKING FABRIC
Not when it comes to passionA bit too serious for what ye doing dontcha think
I don't think it's losing focus, quite the contrary. There's a huge focus on Gojou's development, and it's definitely leading to a point where Gojou will eventually think himself worthy of Marin. His perceived-worthiness definitely increased since chapter 1, but there's still a huge step to be taken there and this arc is, in my personal view, probably the best way to increase his self-confidence (it'll top the School Festival arc I think). Let's be patient, let Fukuda-san cook, she's definitely going to offer us a beautiful moment soon.I feel like this series is losing focus. I liked it more when it was less "serious" and more about the relationship of the two MCs, with a little bit of cosplaying.

Yeah I agree, there's been a huuuuge and sudden shift in the amount of minute details behind the cosplay methods and various lifehacks.I think what the other poster might be getting at (and it's what I notice) is that in the beginning it used to be about Marin and Gojou interacting with the cosplay as a background/inciting element. Now it's about the intricacies and details of the cosplay and also sometimes Marin and Gojou interact around us being shown that.
It feels somewhat like the author wasn't super familiar with cosplay at the beginning of writing the story, but as they did more research they fell down the rabbit hole and got so interested that the focus shifted from using the research to help tell the characters' story to "OMG Isn't all this stuff I learned super cool and interesting and don't you just want to hear about it more for the next 20 pages? And oh yeah, I guess both characters are in the same room for some of it."
If it's not the focus being consumed/cannibalized by the cosplay stuff, then it's the standard issue ongoing serialized story hitch of "you have to keep stalling things because if we get any sort of romantic resolution the story is dead!" nonsense that writers tend to believe in (Shipping Bed Death or Moonlighting Syndrome or whatever you want to call it)
