On a certain level I get the MC didn’t want be the one to cause a ruckus but I can’t help but feel like he’s at fault here. Like it was clear for the moment the knight captain framed him that he was the traitor and he could have broken our of prison at any moment and like even if the knight captain wasn’t a traitor that means the orb had been stolen and isn’t that like the worst case scenario? Keeping up appearances wouldn’t matter in either case. He could have at least broken out and scoped out the situation or gone fugitive to clear his name or met with the princess or like… anything.

...that idiot knight judge condemned his entire family, relatives, associates, and probably his hometown to summary execution.

There's a reason "traitors" are historically condemned in fiction to the deepest layer in hell, chewed on by Lucifer (Dante's Inferno).
