Sure he's got maxed out DEF, but his STR is no joke either.

STR is traditional for tanks, to carry heavy armor. It's also good for parrying heavy blows.
Now that I think of it, MC's clothes look ordinary, but what if they're actually ridiculously heavy?

Probably considering hes been in control of the order for a long time and seems to be the lead on their ideology so it wouldnt be that hard to use some stupid justification till it was too late especially since none of the mob character seem the slightest bit bright. Kinda wonder how the place even kept existing since as far as I can tell without the mc all of it was doomed to begin with. Just look at how fast the invasion happened, he was in the jail for what a day? and the whole place is already overrun

How did the city that so far had little issues protecting against demons, suddenly fail to keep the demons out even until sunset? That they broke through is odd enough, but that it was near instant is just strange considering the only traitor was the knight captain and he clearly didn't have enough influence to manage this even before mc appeared (could only get the outer wall undefended, not the inner).

Or is the prison in the outer district?

I agree - that the rest of the knight-guardsmen going along with this absurdity is sus af. The only way this could be explained is if the traitor-captain has some sort of compulsion spell on them. Which might be the case if he's actually a human-turned-demon.

Fam prolly was forced to sell out Sieg for one reason another. Maybe she got a goofy backstory that forced her actions here.

I assume on Page 7, Fam's "I..." wasn't her trying to give an alibi for Sieg, but it was her trying to say whatever it was she knew about Gregor being the culprit. She's probably innocent, and it's gonna be one of those tropes where when Gregor's finally found out at the end, she goes "yeah, I knew that all along", someone goes "huh? Why didn't you tell us?" and she goes "I tried to tell you at the start, but you cut me off so I just stayed quiet!"
