@boag that's just it, romantic comedy needs stupid stuff you know like since when did you ever see a romantic comedy where everything came straightforward and mature? And yes, this newer version is more focused on romantic comedy. The WN is more Comedy than romance and also fanservice.

How am I supposed to take Dragnars cheating as comedy when both he and his wife both put wazu on the harem quest and gave him their daughter as the first member?

She getting angry that her husband is courting other females makes no sense.

Worst yet, Wazu identifying this as bad also doesnt make any sense because he is actively trying to achieve what he just berated Dragnar over.

It comes off as not only cynical but completely asanine.

And the Web novel did pull off both romance and comedy well, his interactions with the girls were beyond, "he was nice to me, now i love him", he genuinly had to overcome trials to get them to like him.

This adaptation is opening up just as bad as the later half of the webnovel, were all the comedy died and the forced drama took over.

Tell me that Saronas leaving right now makes any sense, and isnt narratively coerced by the writer.

I see you're only focusing the entire plotline unto this one chapter alone? Well, this chapter is full of stupid decisions that I can tell you stuff like this happens in real life. I understand that it is idiotic, but there are a lot of people who have relationships that this here chapter has in common and have happened before.

I even have a friend who had this same kind of situation happen, and I was also as stump as you on as to why she would even overreact as much as that. Especially more so when that woman strongly prefers a monogamous relationship. They're not just dragons and mear animals for the male to incessantly mate just any dragon they have a more intelligent aspect to them that differs not to us humans since they're not like those low leveled dragons who act truly like animals due to their low intelligence. But, they're dragon levels are different and are the same as humans.

Yes, it is stupid to see for a person who had given up on the thought of love for himself. But, it doesn't mean that you can't help others and don't feel any empathy towards the situation. Wazu reacting that way is somewhat normal since he hasn't any love life anymore nor even married and that guy who had it all would treat a woman like that? Heck, of course, anyone who had a love life once would react like that and try to butt in, even more so when that person is a friend. Only those who don't have friends and have those dragons as just mere acquaintances, and add up the dark, gloomy heart, would not even think of trying to help. But, Wazu and those dragons are friends, and friends would help each other out.

If you focus on realism, then that is stupid since she had a task to uphold in her village as a protector. But, this is romance, the writer would try to make outrageous decisions. I don't know if you've watched "telenovelas" or drama, I tell you - what this manga's new adaptation plot is no different than what the telenovelas and drama series that I had watched before. Heck, even the telenovelas have many character decisions that don't make any sense. But, if you only put and focus on "Pure Logic" on all arrangements for the character then there would be no drama and everything would be like a business exchange and less emotional and dramatic kind of feel. But love is different, logic is meaningless, and once the love is so strong, you'll lose sense on what's right. Love can be different for all like a love of an object, love of doing evil, love of doing good, or love for someone else. Only love is where logic becomes blurry, and that person would prefer to focus on the "emotional aspect" rather than the logic and "reasonable aspect."

No, im comparing all the chapters up till now, im comparing character inconsistancies.

It does not make sense.

Salona goes all the way to catch up to wazu only to turn back without meeting wazu.
It does not make sense.

Its like having frodo and sam go to mount doom get to the lava pit and change their mind to come back later.

its narrative dissonance, its not even pure logic is completely contrived to create false drama.

The male dragon told him to, and the wife was not really bothered by it but that's because it's not her husband. Her daughter can give that kind of thing the okay if she wants in the future, but Mel doesn't seem into it. Not really an inconsistency I'd say.

She did the same thing I commented on with someone else in the origin flashback of why Wazu even left the capital, you mean? Didn't stick around to get both sides of the story, just made an assumption at a glance and ran away. Sounds like consistency if anything. I kind of saw it coming from a mile away too.

From what I remember from the novel, he doesn't want a harem, just any girl who would love him back, but misunderstandings or poor timing keep screwing things up. The harem part ends up forming without him even knowing, as all these women run into each other on their quest to track him down and explain things properly, but they keep being one step behind, arriving just after he leaves. Unfortunately I remember the novel translation dropping right around the time the formula started changing.

Though as much as I preferred the way the novel handled a lot of things, I feel like I remember the story taking some weird turns right around when the translation dropped. Been years since I read it, so I might be mixing it up with something else, but if not, maybe different is better for the manga.

"Golden Boy" then? I'm kinda fine with that, the best kind of "kinda".

Also, bet mc gonna misunderstand her dashing off by "never wanna see you again"...
