Almost certainly "Cross", since this is how Japanese anglicize the word for terms like "cross stich", and it fits for a cross between a demon and a human.

I honestly have no clue. The name in Japanese is "クーロ=ス" which when I put into a translator it comes with "Kuro=S" or "Kuro=Su" I'm guessing the = sign comes from the equal sign in the name. And If I search the name in google randomly, that also says Kuro.

I'm choosing to read it as an absurdly long O, Kurooooos, as with Croooow! from Mystery Science Theater 3000.

As somebody who reads Japanese poorly, but at least enough to understand phonetic characters, I can confirm that kūro=su is exactly what ク-ロ=ス spells. Which wrecks my suggestion of "cross" (which is クロス or kurosu, without the lengthened u). So it's just the author being edgy by throwing in unpronounceable characters.
