Part of me suspects the author will try to put a name to that "something" by the end of this.

And a part of me hopes that, if the author does, they find a name that carries the appropriate gravity that something so fundamental to finding the true essence of one's nature and voice and will and drive, should possess.

But whatever it is named, I look forward to him fully embracing and harnessing it, now that we've caught the first taste of its coming forth with this chapter.

I think any good music teacher understands that music is first and foremost just sounds that feel meaningful to a person. It is by definition special. This is why any good music teacher should believe that, to use sensei's words, "it's all about that joy."

I'm lucky to know a music teacher to whom music is a way of life; even though I don't know anything about music, their enthusiasm still rubs off of me. The fact that music means that much to somebody is enough to keep me appreciating it. I guess that's the point; music is a very personal thing.
