@Doctor_Malsyn Yup. You have to take this into perspective though - it isn't about being better than the FML, which he never will be, but winning a game against her. Just spitballing but if I had to guess the FML is probably around A or Expert rank and the MC is anywhere between F-D. New character is probably a C or B.

These are chess ranks from the USCF which is based on an ELO system. I'd have to guess that the MC will probably need another half year of consistent playing to start scoring some wins unless he has some fundamental issues.
