The plebs scoffing at those with passion for the work they do is kind of infuriating, especially when they then try to dictate to others how one should best spend their free time. To have the effort put into making something you can be proud of dismissed by the ones who got it for free all because the narcissists didn't really care for it themselves. Scanlation can be so much more than the mere act of transcribing jap into something just barely legible for the unwashed hordes of desperate eops, even if the readers here tend to make this much less obvious. Besides if you're good enough at reading sfx you should already be able to instantly recognize the kana equivalent of the translated sounds, assuming the translation is sufficiently accurate.
