I think it's cuz this manga gives early 2000s vibes of a male MC dealing with an unreasonable heroine. And said heroine is never called out or suffers any repercussions for her actions and is in fact rewarded for it. That unfairness gets on people's nerves.

I think no one wants to acknowledge the "torture/ecchi" relationship for whatever reason.
