Yes but honestly it would be better for them to 1. not escalate as far as they typically do and 2. apologize right away.My question: would tsunderes be more tolerable if they apologize for all their tsun-ness in the end?
Honestly, if they just sincerly apologized at any point it would make them far less annoying because that speaks to a certain self awareness and show they arent just assholes. My question: would tsunderes be more tolerable if they apologize for all their tsun-ness in the end?
Yeah, these series are made for horny teenagers. Adults fans tend to grow out of it and just begin to roll their eyes. As an older reader myself, I know I care a lot more about the story and characters these days than fan service.I feel like, as ive grown older, ive started to dislike these "pervert" jokes more and more.
Like i know its exaggerated but noone reacts even close to this irl when someone accidentally enters the room while they are changing. Double standards are also annoying, as usual, and the whole thing him chasing them down is also pretty weird im ngl.
Thanks for the chapter nonetheless.
Nino Nakano drugged Futaro Uesugi twice, treated him like a pariah, and was absolutely heinous toward him for roughly a third of the run of Quintessential Quintuplets. And you know what happened? She stopped being a bitch, started being sincere, faced her feelings head on, and proceeded to become the most popular character in the entire series.Honestly, if they just sincerly apologized at any point it would make them far less annoying because that speaks to a certain self awareness and show they arent just assholes.
Im personally willing to forgive alot of things if steps are being take to make up for it but the most ive ever seen is tsunderes realizing that they did something bad without ever actually communicating this.
Wait. Nino is the most popular character??? Is that objective or subjective?Nino Nakano drugged Futaro Uesugi twice, treated him like a pariah, and was absolutely heinous toward him for roughly a third of the run of Quintessential Quintuplets. And you know what happened? She stopped being a bitch, started being sincere, faced her feelings head on, and proceeded to become the most popular character in the entire series.
Part of that comes from the fact that she straight up said, "I know I was despicable. Give me a chance to prove that I can be better and that I genuinely love you." The other part is that when she communicated her feelings she was bold and never held back. She wasn't the type of character to pull the "it's not like I like you or anything" bullshit that's so frustratingly overused with this archetype (Karane Inda notwithstanding - she plays the trope perfectly.) Nino stood on business and refused to present her feelings as anything other than authentic. That's why we loved her.
It's really not that complicated to make a tsundere compelling. The worse their behavior, the more endearing they become when they own up to their mistakes and strive to be better. Couple that with them openly expressing their feelings without trying to play them off at every opportunity and it's a winning formula that writes itself.
It's insane to me that there are still authors who don't know how this works. And I'm not confident this author knows his how it works. I'm not going to say he doesn't have a good route in mind for this particular character, but he isn't giving me reasons to be optimistic with how tired every other aspect of this manga already seems.
Who can stand to be around someone who is hateful all of the time? This is what karma should deal them:Ay don't put them next to yanderes.
At least you can logically understand yanderes. They are so psychopathically in love that they will obliterate anyone getting in their way (even the subject of their affection) and they are often not used to do "stupid completely nonsensical and unfunny" comedy.
While a tsundere bitch is someone who "denies her love" that part i honestly don't mind. It's their cliche actions that mangakas do (sometimes for them to hide their affection) that really irks me.
Like here, she's embarrassed and threatens him, then completely refuses his logical and sensible demand.
She's also mad that he didn't invite her and is actually tarnishing his repo by twisting her words. (Of her loved one)
In what right state of mind does she think that these actions will lead to their crush liking them back!?
What we should do is, to start treating tsundere's as mentally disturbed characters too, because that is the only way their actions make sense.
Call out these shitty tropes so people stop putting them in stories.
