I can only assume one of two things,either Goleo could always change forms at will, but due to the MC's expectations of how golems are supposed to look, Goleo never changed shape (more or less the same reason why Goleo rejected the cute headdress.).
Or They went to some mage/store and bought a magical accessory/spell that shape-changed Goleo.

On the other, Does that lower their base stats to lose that much mass? Or is it still a function of what the "soul" enforces on their surroundings?

trans woman → a woman that was initially assigned as a man

trans golem → a golem lady that was initially assigned as genderless
