Really, killing an artist is much easier than controlling one. Especially if this artist already has a ton of shapeshifting alien liquid under his control.
Frankly I'm surprised he even tried to negotiate with Deido instead of skipping straight to killing him. I guess he just wanted the experience of seeing Deido do something HE said for once.
