Is there a reason that we need to waste a chapter where the characters debate whether Lacile would want them to rescue the tribe?
Everybody, including the readers, knew the answer given Lacile's nature.
That's why he told you to leave him to deal with the archers.
So spend 2 or 3 pages on quick debate and get on with it.

Manga can be so frustrating at times.

The part about them debating going back for lacile WAS 3 pages though. Also, lacile couldn't have known this would happen to the village

This is the first time, I think, that I've seen Norihiro Yagi show in his work that he's a Star Wars fan, given that last page spread is a .9 to 1 approximation of the Sandcrawler from Episode IV. I don't think he ever did similar things in Angel Densetsu or Claymore.
