What the f**k is that?! Why is it still going on with filler things?! Why there is a Sun Wukong totally filler, there?! Please, stop this damned first trial of the stairs, which was a lot shorter in the novel. They're putting tons of filler in this first trial. I want to see the second trial, with the 100.000 years beast Shark Queen T_T

The year is 2035:

The global conflict known as the American Succession war has finally ended leaving billions dead.
The survivors are still fighting off COVID-19 which has since evolved into a hive-mind intelligence bent on world domination.
Disney has finally finished talks to acquire China and India and is now the largest country on the planet.
Amazon has completed construction of the Amazon Orbital Headquarters and has moved all operations off planet.
The effects of Nuclear Winter have halted the effects of Global Warming, but not before wiping out every coastal city on the planet.

and Tang San? Well, he's still on those fucking stairs.

Come on this is getting stupid, this was not in the novel at all, they finished the stairs arc in about 10 chapters or so then went on to take another 6 or 7 tests, but in the manhua we're stuck on the stairs test for almost 50 chapters or so...

So now we have a full story arc... per stair step?
Kind of excessive.
Plus, I don't understand these stairs. Are they supposed to be an illusion? Or an actual special dimension?

At the beginning, I thought it was an illusion that gave the same mental pressure and near-same physical pressure as actually fighting beasts or events.
Now, it looks like real beasts are locked in the steps, and the challenger is actually going through the fight... but at the same time not?

They're supposed to be at the base of a giant stairs, and all around that point there should be an halo of water, a circular river, which block anybody to go near the stairs. They traveled through it, but they cannot go away from there because the water is full of spiritual beast: demon white sharks. And the leader of those sharks is a female shark, the Demon Great White Shark, which is a 100000 years old spiritual beast. They used to fight and train together with her (because she can take human form) while waiting for an year using the stairs spiritual pressure to train and cultivate. After the first trial (the Stairs), there is the second trial, which is to leave that pleace, traveling across the water without being killed by the Shark Queen. EVERYTHING you're seeing right now, about the difficulties of go on up the stairs, is all filler. The stair trial was just that: cultivate and be strong enough to go on to the stairs, with a time-limit of 1 year. Nothing more.

If we base our info on the novel, they are stairs filled with Sea God power. The more you go up, going on through the stairs, the more the spiritual pressure increases. The trial is to reach a certain height, different for each character. In the Novel the time limit was 1 year. So they used all that time to train themself, using that spiritual pressure and cultivating/meditating on the stairs, trying everyday to meditate on an higher step if possible. And then, the last day of their 1-year time, they went on the stair and reached their goal. Just that. Nothing more. No strange illusions, no strange special dimensions etc. About everything you're seeing here in the manhua is filler.
