As stated previously by Frieren, the Goddess's Magic doesn't work the same way as the magic she uses, which is why Frieren only knows how to use basic Goddess's Magic, because she learnt from the scriptures.

So if I understand it correctly there is basically a secret civil war between those that support magic and those who want to destroy it (Shadow Warriors).

they all of a sudden mention a few chapters ago the death of one of the last legendary mages....and probably the only one who could kill serie.

I'm pretty sure she faked her death and is actually lore (unless lore is already known to us).

Edit: sorry just realised lore was the nun. I refer to the missing piece character that Frieren is talking about. the character they don't know about analyzing everyone.

Not clear on the motivation of the Shadow Warriors. How does an organization ostensibly set up to protect an empire founded by a magic user with the goal of empowering everyone with magic, lead to them deciding that they should end magic (and kill the teacher of their founder)? The kind of dedication shown by these guys has to be backed up by some serious conviction, since they're happy to be used as pawns in service of their goals, but their goals don't seem to make sense, so where is their conviction coming from? Especially after the empire itself "disbanded" them.

Also, as a sidenote, I don't like warriors in general in the story. They're clearly superhuman in strength, speed, resilience, and so on, but somehow "don't use magic".

I'm not sure where the complaint is coming from, since its been something established so long and intergral to the plot. If warriors literally had no role in a party, then there would be no Himmel - I'm sure it's not too hard to have a suspense of belief in a fantasy genre with magic, and not too hard to believe that humans in the world have some sort of unnatural fantasy strength and skills?

im guessing some demons have started to hypnotize people and wants to use them to topple the inner structure of human societies because uncoordinated enemies are easier to pick off

for example, what if demons suddenly started to invade the empire but due to the empires sour relationship with their surrounding countries no one will help them as they are invaded and slaughtered?

That Klematis guy, he's totally fuck up. After healing his subordinate, he's straight up telling them, "Alright mate, go fight again now."

The Gorilla Warrior is confirmed the same guy. It seems the guy become more cynical. It's probably going to be a hard fight for Sein.

My theory is that now that the demon king is dead they dont think that magic is needed anymore, the might of the warriors should be enough and a magic user does suffer when fighting a warrior so dealing with the demons without magic should be the hardest thing.
But now I wonder how tf would killing her bring the end of magic, sure the magic association is done for, she is the sole pillar no other mage could take her place not even frieren but like magic would still be taught even if they end that education on the empire nothing is stopping the other nations.
And does that include priest magic? Because if so thats even dumber, going to kill the goddess next?

Priest magic is different. It's something like a Blessing or Miracle or something like that. It required them recite certain passage in the Goddess's Bible.

Lol, Serie is so petty. She used her mana detection in a super flashy way to not only pick a fight with Phrase, but to one-up Frieren and show how immature in magic she is because she couldn't notice Phrase's mana detection watching them. Frieren was only able to perceive it thanks to Serie's flashy move.

I guess Serie wasn't lying when she said Frieren is weak for her age.

Despite Frieren may weaker than Serie, but she's still a powerful mage who's capable to go one-on-one with a demon general. But yeah, Frieren isn't perfect. She had her own weakness, and that was mana detection.

It's been established, but one could overlook it to some degree. Now it's being made a central point of the conflict, which highlights the sillyness of superhumans complaining about some other specific kind of superpower. Especially when it's being highlighted that the Goddess' magic is yet another kind of magic. So we basically have three magic systems, Warriors, Mages, and Priests, and a group of warriors who specifically dislike mages for some reason that has not even been hinted at before. Who were supposedly set up by an empire that was all about teaching magic to everyone, and which flourished on that premise.

Looks like Gorilla warrior isn't really part of their crew, more like associated with them. They could have a bargain of working together? Maybe he's being threatened? So many possibilities. From what I see it does look like Sein and Blacksmith Kreil will meet this turn of events will permanently add Sein to the team. At least that's what I hope.

I like the conflict of ideology of each faction has. The Empire wants to monopolize the research of magic as it fuels it's progress and economy while the Continental Magic Association wants to proliferate magic as it will increase the chances of birthing individuals beneficial to the future of magic. I bet the Shadow Warriors sees magic being abused and caused great devastation around the world which is the reason why the want to eliminate it.
