My theory is that now that the demon king is dead they dont think that magic is needed anymore, the might of the warriors should be enough and a magic user does suffer when fighting a warrior so dealing with the demons without magic should be the hardest thing.
But now I wonder how tf would killing her bring the end of magic, sure the magic association is done for, she is the sole pillar no other mage could take her place not even frieren but like magic would still be taught even if they end that education on the empire nothing is stopping the other nations.
And does that include priest magic? Because if so thats even dumber, going to kill the goddess next?
Serie is basically the closest thing to the goddess of creation so I could see them doing to same thing with the logic that if they can kill Minus a great mage they might be able to kill Serie the strongest mage and if they can kill Serie maybe they could kill god idk. Dumb but it might work? Seriously doubt Serie will get killed though.

So they have a conflict of interest between the Empire's spec ops and the Shadow warriors. Now we know that there's a very low chance that they'd unite against Serie and the Continental Magic Association. Why get rid of magic though? Magic is just a tool, just get rid of people who use it for evil purposes. Why would you get rid of an ancient great mage and the mage of the heroes party, both contributed to the development of the humankind and saved them from the demons?

Blessed be Übel, Sense with cat ears. I think she's too scared of Übel to refuse.

Lmao, Serie's students trying to protect her, while she walks in there provoking all enemies.

Hmmm, it's too early to judge Gorilla but I'm really curious what caused him to change his mind.
And while the shadow warriors treat each other rather roughly, at the same time you can tell they really care about another.
Gotta hope Frieren can achieve on of her less violent plans, because otherwise I'm really having trouble imagining an outcome where they survive in a fight against both Frieren and Serie, nevermind all the other imperial mages and the special forces of magic of the imperium...

Phrase is the picture perfect evil superior. Assign your subjects an inconspicuous but incredibly vague task, so they have to make their own decisions and if the outcome is bad you can just shift the blame on them for disobeying orders.

This is gonna be a sick three way battle between the continental magic association, shadow warriors, and the empire

Some Jerkoff trying to kill our heros: I WANNA GET RID OF ALL MAGIC BY USING MAGIC

Me: LOL OKAY
No one from those Shadow Warriors used magic.

As stated previously by Frieren, the Goddess's Magic doesn't work the same way as the magic she uses, which is why Frieren only knows how to use basic Goddess's Magic, because she learnt from the scriptures.

Basically pro magic faction and anti magic faction duke it out on national founding day while Serie want to fight with everyone.

The goals and motivations of all three parties have been laid out in a sinlge chapter, there still seem to be some unkowns like Serie's infiltrator in the empire and that drunk sword person (I think that's a setup for a Stark fight).
Also we never truly saw what Serie's truly capable of, given how casually she spread her mana across the entire capital, listened in on conversations and even manipulated the surroundings (like creating sparks), she may not even be under threat of dying but might be doing this just for the thrill of battle (since I don't see why if she can do that, why she can't just home in on their base and destroy it). She and her organisations have existed through the peak of demon rule, and we see no signs on even them trying to mess with her, so this whole plan might be an act of supreme arrogance unless they've some secret tricks or Serie's got some weakness beyond the standard one for mages.

I think a group of shadow warriors could 100% take down Serie if she had no back up. Remember that just one Shadow Warrior could've killed Frieren, and that guy saw no combat for the last few decades and he was really old.
Warriors are scissors and Mages are paper.

I think the idea of "kill Serie = end magic" is based on the fact that Serie is the living grimoire. She is the literal repository of ALL magic that has ever existed (minus demon curses and Goddess magic). Killing her would in a single blow remove all access to magic from the ancient age of myth, not to mention immeasurable amounts of the magic her students had developed over the millennia that they simply never passed down. While it wouldn't make magic users just go away, it would severely limit things that they could do in the future. It would even make it possible for the Empire to reinstitute the magic ban they originally had before Flamme's time.

Now, yes, Frieren herself also has access to a massive amount of magic from the age of myth, but in the original plan she would already have died by this point.

People are looking at the Shadow Warriors motive as trying to change the world when it may be far more simple and far more selfish: In a world without demon kings, in a world where magic is supreme, in a world where the empire no longer needs them, what need do they have for such a world? What if your last gasp is to take the world that threw you away down with you?
