just look at the bloody face Himmel is doing in the last panel of page 25
the sadness, acceptance. He dearly loves her, but realises that she is far beyond his mortal grasp.
So instead of either pursuing he seriously or grieving for his remaining life, he relishes in the short and fleeting moments of overt emotional connection they have.

dammit after reading the chapter and the comments, i think Himmel liked Frieren, too but hesitated to confess or even pursue her because of the large difference between their lifespans 😭. And now, I think Frieren is slowly just realizing her possible feelings for him, too. This is too sad 😭😭😭

notice how every chapter starts with the narator reminding us that it's been X years since himmle's passing. I think the narator is the MC herself. She always reminds herself that her life revolves around himmel and how attached she is to him.

I'm beginning to ship Frieren with Himmel...just why am I doing this to myself? This is worse than second lead syndrome X'DDD

I hate when manga get pretentious, and it happens so much. What the fuck are these two even talking about in the last few pages? "But you did choose magic!" is that supposed to be deep?

The older I get, the more I appreciate the idea of experiencing the moments as you live them.

These chapters make so much sense to me, even with so few words.

@vexelpops -- I don't think she meant anything deep, to be honest. They both chose magic, and that's that. There's less point in asking when/how/why and second guessing yourself constantly after you've thought it through, than to dedicate yourself completely in pursuing of excellence in said decision, imho.
