They do, the point is that mages arent unkillable gods and need protection from warriors when fighting since their spellcasting needs some time to activate and this extends to even mages like Frieren, one of the reasons this series is good is because she isnt written like some Isekai protagnoist that effortless defeat anything they come across, Frieren and her group certainly have weakness not only in personality but also in their chosen professions. These guys don't really fit in. At least the threat they seemingly pose. There are mages hundreds if not thousands years of age and these guys (or with similar martial provess) never been utilized against any of these mages? Since they are apperently scared shitless and pretty easy to kill as the old fart demonstrated last chapter. No mage would live past 30 with them around.
Also for someone who is so detacted from worldly affairs after the subjugation, its fairly easy to drag Frieren in to any sort of plan for some reason.
It's not about understanding the words or not. I understood every word they use easily. But they were distracting from the story because of how uncommon those words are, and how these characters have never talked like this in the previous 125 chapters. It also makes them all sounds like a young person who found out about a thesaurus for the first time and are using it to try desperately to impress people. Normal people don't talk like this, especially not Stark, nor has he before. So when suddenly they do it makes the attention, which should be on the story itself, gets taken by the weird TL instead, and the chapter is the lesser for it.if you cant grasp then you should've attended your english class more
If you actually attended English class, you'd realize this verbosity does not make sense in many of the dialogues. There needs to be nuance, consistency and context. Frieren and Stark talking to each other so formally makes no sense. Sentences like "I desire to be more intimate about Four-Eyes" shows that the translator was too busy trying to pop out fancier wording than proofreading themself.if you cant grasp then you should've attended your english class more
Is a female peer stalking you and constantly calling you four-eyed to get a reaction from you? Ah, this is love! Well, or school bullying... Well, or both together, it happens.
On that note, Himmel and cia. supposedly killed Grausam at some point but that's just what we were told, we never saw a flashback of their fight (unlike with Böse, the other Sage of Destruction they killed). That or demons.
Wouldn't surprise me that much, if the empire had some hidden demon enclave within it. Especially considering that the first thing Macht and Solitär aimed at was breaking the barrier around the Empire after being freed.
They're terrible.i like this kind of translation more instead of those who put their stupid slangs and making it sound like a modern teenage kid its annoying and stupid really
Frieren actually crosses over with high school rom-com tropes quite a bit if you really think about it. Starting from a goofy teenager and his female friend who is constantly angry with him due to social misunderstandings. And ending with "these two girls" with the chemistry of an old married couple or a cool older brother who constantly fantasizes about Oneesans.I've read enough romcoms to know how this works out.
Everything is good at the right time and in the right place. High fantasy characters should actually speak in a rather literary and beautiful way, and not act like children on tiktok. They're terrible.
Yeah. The classic MC are usually balanced build, while their party members deal with the specialist jobs (but also more stereotyped and can be one-trick-pony).Heroes or Braves/Yuusha usually has high speed and overall good stats, but lower strength and defense than the warrior. Overall the best playable character. Think Cloud from Final Fantasy VII and Chrono from Chrono Trigger.
Speaking of power, Yuusha typically can also have special blessing from the goddess/spirits or the likes in the scenario. The power gives them more resistance and advantage against the dark/evil attributes. And in scenario events, it can be the secret key that allow them to overcome the trials on their journey (such as inspiration, guidance, or just ability to snap out of enemy’s trick) while everyone else who are not the “chosen one” won’t be able to do it.Seriously though, I am now getting more eager on what power criteria for being a Hero is.
