@eatgoddamnshit you can see that Fern have been slowly moving her staff since page 13, she got her staff on page 14 and then escaped the demon's clutches on page 15. She mentioned that the demon "gave her an opening" on purpose because he's prideful and only sees Frieren as a threat. It's pretty consistent.

Yeah, that Demon is well fixated in Frieren ( probably due to his previous experience ). Good on Fern to (ab)use it.
