Joke (not really) aside,the manga had a hiatus so long because tha artist was hit by a serious illness, afterecovering release restarted in a regular pace and there are 62 chapters raw out right now.
The 62th feels and look a bit like a end, but is just the finale of this arc and the elves problem, I fear it could even be a test from the publisher if the manga stil have followers, but with the anime coming I don't believe there should be problems.

It's not a guaranteed early death, but such gentletic mutations typically lead to dying much younger than you normally would have due to various health complications. Something also to note is that the case you described isn't quite the same kind of genetic mutation as stuff like having both male and female parts. There are genetic mutations that just make life more difficult, and some that lead to major health complications that typically lead to a much shorter life expectancy (though some can make it to about young adulthood if they're lucky.)

It's not necessarily a guarantee that such a personal will live a painful existence, but the general life expectancy isn't the greatest since they're much more prone to various health problems.

I may be misremembering, it's been a very long time, but IIRC Brolite doesn't have the equipment of both, she literally has the upper body of a man and the lower body of a woman. No mammaries, no peen... rather than a woman with male genitals as well, she's closer to a man with just female genitals. But I could be misunderstanding how it was described...

[EDIT] - Having spent far too long trying to track it down, there's someone who made a comment on chapter 49 about the LN saying that she lacks breasts but is female from the waist down. She's not flat, she literally doesn't have mammaries, but there's no suggestion of her being a futa either. NU doesn't have much translated for the novel though, so I can't directly check the language.

Wow it’s so good to have this one back. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous. And the cover pages are so damn detailed. I miss this one, genuinely. They’re tackling a pretty significant problem rn that can be solved very easily if not for traditions. From another person’s comment, it seems like it’ll be solved in two chapters? The chapters are long and there is always significant plot movement in each one so I’m happy with that.

It’s also unfortunate that the mangaka got a serious illness. I hope they have fully recovered or will soon.
