Sheesh one manga gets updated by someone else and you guys start panic dropping a bunch of hoarded content you haven’t released in years as some kind of intimidation tactic. Fucking shame on you for hoarding this long.

Truth be told, after all that build-up, the resolution to the arc feels quite abrupt. Did the author grow tired of it and just wanted to move on?

I agree with this. So much of this arc felt almost needlessly drawn out, and then BOOM the past two chapters just sped everything up significantly. I feel as though if the mangaka utilized his normal pacing, they would have shown some of the conflict in the discussion of the elven royals and religious representatives. This manga has some great dialogue, such as the interaction between MC and Brolite’s sister, so just offscreening the elven discussions was so confusing to me. I do also feel like the elves would have included MC in the discussion, since he was the actual catalyst in bringing forth the great spirit. The whole idea of the resolution was to embrace change and diversity, and MC just let them deal with it in isolation? No way will this go smoothly for a long time.

I don’t know how this went in the LN, but it was such an abrupt change of pace, it gave me whiplash. I still love this series though because all of the character designs and dynamics are so nice.

Did the shrine maiden ever talk about her kid by using his name? It's kinda weird to "this child" it that much

Remind me what was preventing Puni from manifesting Liber Arina earlier and solving all this right at the beginning..? :nyoron:

i dunno if im just so jaded from everything else but the whole "black elves" resolution really felt like woke (i hate using that term) propaganda resolution. am i the only one? like the elves are clearly resembling the stereotypical african haircuts and you got a very very overweight DEI spirit both of which pop out of nowhere and preach the message that foreigners are good.

like if they were the typical fantasy darkelves then i probably wouldnt even have connected this but they specifically made them resemble africans...

also the resolution in general is kinda just shit. its basically just MC stumbled on the missing girl, missing girl apparently already has a kid despite only being gone for what? a few weeks? maybe a few months tops? and then she shows her kid to the king (because apparently she needed to wait for mc to come to do that?) and everything is solved and they leave?

like what the fuck is that? What was the point of this arc?

Ten buttered potatoes is a cheap price but other than being pampered or using her magic to cook surely she can also make her own portion

Feels a bit odd to leave the elves like this. I mean this is an Isekai fantasy setting, and our MC has already demonstrated extreme magical and healing abilities where he elevated the race of his Dragon companion, so why hasn't he considered some method to help the obviously unhealthy elves?

Sure, they may not be outwardly wounded, but he should certainly be aware that their ailment is mostly caused by genetic defects caused by their isolationism. Could he not simply attempt to heal them by focusing on genetic defects specifically? Since he more or less "remade" or altered his dragon friend, even if by accident, he should know that it's a real possibility, even more so if he should heal them while focusing on that outcome. Leaving many of them in their overtly twisted/broken forms, feels like he's not really trying, even more so considering the struggles of Brolite that he has seem himself.
I think this manga demonstrates how our culture (still) views genetic disorders.
If this were written in a decade, your suggested genetic fix would surely be included.
And if it were written a decade or 3 ago, the same.
But after those high hopes when we began to understand genetics, we got a sort of backlash, when we didn't get immediately obvious health benefits from all that advanced research.

The mangaka really allows himself and the ML to do unnecessary things. Obviously he could stay for a bit, and let Brolite take care of what needs doing.
He (ML) was going on and on about all those cool things/plants/materials to be found in and around the elven village, but no, suddenly he has to leave?
Embarrassing writing.
