The alternative is them believing he's got god-level power. Since they think he's just a regular (better than average) guy, it's easier to believe the more logical explanation that the stone divided by zero rather than say this relatively normal-looking guy is a god.

Annoying Isekai trope #2: MC complains about how much better Japanese baths are, or Go on a tirade about how much he needs a tradition Japanese bath. AND (possibly) all the while being able to clean themselves with cleaning magic or non Japanese style baths. It's not that they aren't getting clean, It's just that it isn't "Japanese" enough. 🙂

this isn't a criticism of Japanese bathing practices, it's just that it is in (almost) every isekai story and it gets a little annoying.

@Jorelm Its more of an experience after all. Its not like a shower and a bath are the same thing in the first place though they both clean you. I would probably just stick with magic myself but i would likely go looking for breakfast cereal if i was in such a position. I just love having cereal in the morning and it feels off without it.

Its also kinda obvious. Like thugs it might be cliche or overdone but it does have its purpose and if used properly you can't really not use it to tell some stories. Thugs for instance work to show the worlds society and how prim and proper things are. How safe the area is or the social standings of said thugs.

Searching for rice or baths can be used to show many things, like an Asian culture or class systems for bathing. Big baths could also show a more Rome like civilization. Rather than Japanese the whole thing is more that its so heavily ingrained that they desire it when lacking. I would also point out that it makes sense to search for familiar sensations to ground themselves in a foreign world.

@Sep10trion I remember hearing once that Folsom prison, a state prison in Maine used to serve lobster to it's inmates. They (lobsters) really look like giant sea bugs/cockroaches. Also, if you don't cook them correctly they can taste rubbery and awful. So I can see why it took a long time for people to like eating them.

Also, when the fuck will he stop displaying his item box to every single being he comes across? As if that wasn't enough, he knows that the cub might bring trouble but he goes out of his way to tell everyone it's a dragon cub.

In addition, it's kind of amusing how every single person he comes across seems to have some way of knowing that he's a kind guy that is harmless, be it magic sight or magic items or just instinct. Smooth sailing wet dream wish fulfillment.

Ah, one last thing, I hope he falls asleep while bathing and drowns.

If he's gonna show his item box and dragon cub, why not tell them he can also use magic?
He literally smiles and blushes when he's getting questioned by people with serious expressions. Creepy. Must be a side effect of the fear resistance.
Imagine just moaning in pleasure while using magic to clean yourself(which he probably couldn't feel) and eating.
Just imagining the MC annoys me to death.
