I see...So Ceres and Sasha became "one" due to the relic's curse.

And the main portion of Ceres soul became part of what we know of and perceive as "Circe".

What are the odds...that that contact of Ceres was the main antagonist, the...Dungeon Slayer, if I recall correctly?

I'd chalk it up to heat of the moment. Tensions are high, and rationality is low, as we're not rational beings, with reality being evident proof.
