@Cyoteblack What you are saying is that if the kid disappoints the new mom in some way at some point, it would be okay for the kid to be tortured as well. Quite a morbid look at the series.
@Cyoteblack Because what you were describing is the personality of the rain woman. If she has it in her to torture strangers for a year, it's highly unlikely that tendency would be limited to only the parents of the kid. No, if she was prone to such impulses and deeds, anyone could be the target. Violent people are violent people. Period. Being a youkai allowed her to slay the failure parents, presumably, but that's an entirely different thing from prolonged torture. You don't want to associate with people who think nothing of torture. Take my word for it.
@Kaarme
Ameonna does not have a history of killing. In this manga, her origin is because she lost her own child. The manga insinuates that she kills the parents. This yokai, who is not known for empathy, started crying when she saw the abuse of this child and took him in. She could've took them across the Sanzu alive. She could've drowned them in the Sanzu trapping them between life and death!! She could've handed them directly to Yama!
I would have thought this type of abuse was unreal, but my friend adopted her son and he was terrified to take a bath for weeks because he didn't know it could be warm. He's doing much better now and loves his new family
When the poor boy undresses on page 3 we see his bruising extends all the way down and implies they made him take a cold baths until this point. :'<
New Youkai Mom is actually an angel but damn, this backstory...
