yeah we done known for a while but HOOOOOOOOOOOOLY absolutely crazy reveal. if you go back to the chapter where donovan and loid meet for the first time, loid does go on an internal monologue like "i won't stop trying to understand others, i am a spy, after all..." so donovan already knows loid is a spy if he can really read minds, this really changes everything. wouldn't be surprised if anya gets more involved in the mission and loid learns about her esper abilities as well

If I were you, I would read the comments in chapter 109, because most of them got the premonition of Desmond reading minds right.
Don't "look for bananas", "look for knowledge", as Et Bilu said in a Brazilian meme.
Regarding the Strix operation being compromised, it depends a lot on how this universe in Spy x Family is interconnected. If Desmond did in fact read Loid's mind at the meeting, the point is also to imagine his reading ability, and if at some point Desmond read other minds of party comrades, politicians and police officers, because that would tell how much he knows about the Strix operation.
Which could also mean that in the end Desmond just "plays" with Ostânia and Westalis, just taking advantage of this ability. Just see how rarely the secret service (where Yuri works) and Wise clash.
Bonus point: the Shopkeeper. Given that he only triggers Yor on a few occasions now that she has "married" Loid, it is also worth understanding how much the underworld knows or is triggered by Desmond - IF that is.

While the reveal is probably shocking to no one, it's still nice how well it was set up. We get the older son with the completely blank thoughts, the weird dinner where nobody said a word, but the father was still really happy about it, and now the telepath reveal, where we're also told that the elder son suspected it first, looping back around to explaining why he can just shut off his thoughts.
Which chapter was that when it was shown that the older son could shut off his thoughts?
I'm thinking that if Donovan read Anya's, he'd have a breakdown.If Anya read Donovan mind, would she read her own mind ?

as for the Shopkeeper request frequency, I think it's more likely we just don't see most of the "regular business" taking place; same with Loid's "daily spy endeavours". We mostly see when something that has more significance or relations to our current immediate plot context happens, as has been the case thus far (other than the occasional drops of like few frames or so, just kind of like "this keeps happening by the way")
doesn't mean you couldn't be right in that, but until more leads showing thus, I feel like it's more so just those things lacking plot importance for the moment
on the other hand I agree the potential connections / knowledge the underworld holds in this web is definitely going to be interesting

Maybe it'd be like one of those feedback loops where a microphone picks up its own whine from the headset and amplifies it to a painful degree.
We don't know that it is the exact same. He may have different capabilities, different limitations. Anya seems relatively normal personality-wise so she may be from a later stage of the project, when they've learned to avoid certain damage, and Desmond may be from an earlier stage.

I honestly think that Donovan may be from a later stage, it's hard to know since we haven't read Endo's mind.
Because both Anya and Bond are from "old" experiments in the universe of the series. We don't know if Anya was born already programmed, if she was altered when she was young or if it was just a short time ago when she met Twilight at the orphanage. Given that she had already been adopted other times and rejected because of her behavior (due to mind reading), she would probably have been adopted about 1 or 2 years after the experiment or after the last adoption, I don't know.
From what I understood from Melinda, Desmond's turnaround came after Daiman was born. (She doesn't really make it very clear). We would have to see when the experiments began. Anyway, let's see how far the explanations go.
By the way: I know that the issue of the experiments has to do with something that happened in reality but didn't have the results as in the series. Generally, from what I understand, there are some references to wars within the SxF universe. You would have to consult the Fandom/Wiki, because if I'm not mistaken they talked about it there.
