damn it isn't explain clearly. i speculate the reason is this : family threatened by black hooded man thus mc decided to try and leave yu ning to die by not healing her. What she said to persuade him was that she would not leave mc's clan alone and help later on, which shows the bad atmosphere is due to political negotiation instead of normal relationship
